How to Winterize Camp

You should winterize the camp in November through March.
(Whenever there is the slightest possibility of freezing temperatures)

Arriving

Close all faucets in the camp, privy, shower and outdoor sink
Close all 3 outdoor faucets:

  1. Porch side of amp
  2. Back side across from propane tank
  3. Air conditioner side of privy (be sure this faucet is closed. It is low to the ground and easy to miss)

Turn water on. The main is on the porch side of the camp

Leaving

Turn the water main off.
Open all faucets and flush toilets after the water is off.

Inside faucets:

  1. Kitchen sink
  2. Lavatory in bathroom
  3. Both lavatories in privy
  4. Flush all 3 toilets

Put anti-freeze (3 tablespoons) in each lavatory and the bowl of all 3 toilets

Outside:

Shower – open all 6 valves on the pipe tree and unscrew the garden hose from pipe connection

Outdoor sink – open sink taps and open valves behind the sink

Open all 3 hose faucets:

  1. Porch side of the camp
  2. Back side of camp across from the propane tank, unscrew hose from faucet
  3. Air conditioner side of privy. This is the most important one as it will allow the whole system to drain.
